Millennium Project Philippines Launch
The Philippine Futures Thinking Society (PhilFutures), the first and only professional futurists, futures scholars, and practitioners’ organization in the country envisions igniting the Filipino Hiraya (meaning the fruit of one’s hopes, dreams and aspirations. It also means imagination and vision) through the power of foresight. Its mission is to advance and democratize Futures thinking in the Philippines through impact foresight education, research, training, and advocacy.
To intensify its mission and advocacy to increase the country’s global Futures and strategic foresight research capacity, PhilFutures in partnership with the Center for Engaged Foresight, the Development Academy of the Philippines and the Philippine Society for Public Administration and Governance, and the Millennium Project, a global participatory and top futures research think tank based in Washington with 60+ Millennium futures research nodes around the world, will launch the Millennium Project Philippines on August 15, 2020, at 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Philippine Time.
The Millennium Project Philippines aims to collaborate with experts, thought leaders, state universities and colleges, companies, civil society, government agencies, and other potential partners to build the country’s futures intelligence system to improve our prospects of shaping a better future and, at a planetary level, participate in generating and accumulating ideas and wisdom to improve humanity’s prospects for a brighter future. It is organized to provide technical and research capability support on futures tools and methodologies and collective intelligence systems and produced futures – focused on high-level policy research like the Philippine State of the Future Index, 2050 Philippine Work and Technology Futures Scenarios and Actions including the conduct of national strategy workshops on work and technology futures including sustainable and regenerative city futures.
