The Center for Engaged Foresight is a premier global futures thinking and strategic foresight design and innovation firm based in Manila. It was initially conceived in a futures workshop held at the University of Sains Malaysia organized by the Right Livelihood College and the World Futures Studies Federation. The idea came to fruition when Prof. Shermon Cruz and Dr. Jose Ramos, Action Foresight Australia, collaborated to launch the Center’s first strategic foresight certificate course in May 2012 in the City of Laoag.

Since its establishment, CEF has advanced a spectrum of anticipatory thinking, systems, and processes in the Philippines, the Asia Pacific, and the world to intensify the aptitude of people, communities, organizations, companies, and institutions to anticipate and respond to emerging and disruptive challenges of the 21st century.

We strive to facilitate futures conversations and design foresight exercises that help immerse our clients and partners to a foresight experiential questioning process to enable them to reframe their ways of knowing and imagining the future and improve their ability and capability to anticipate, imagine, innovate, create and respond to alternative and preferred futures. We create experiences that allow our participants and collaborators to invent the future today.
